  The Alchemist Part II

The alchemist owned a nice brick shop beneath a nice tall willow tree. Near the willow tree, children liked to play softball.

Luther was one of these children. She was at a terrific age of 10, and she was the best kid softball player anyone ever knew. She was first picked for teams. She could bat 200 m easy, and no stray baseball ever passed her glove. She wasn't related to the alchemist or anything, she just liked the softball-playing underneath the willow tree.

THUNK.

"Ha! Home run!" Luther laughed. Her team mates cheered. They went to rest on the bench. She turned around to get the ball, resting in the bushes beside the alchemist's shoppe. She bent underneath the window and rifled her hand through the bush, until she got something round. Bingo.
She picked up the battered ball and walked back to her cheering team mates. Luther turned around. For a second, she thought there was a girl looking out the window....
A sad girl....
Impossible. Only that weary old nut head of a scientist lived in that old brick house. Whatever. She must be dreaming....
